California Summer Release Schedules

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has made it’s May water forecast that has determined most river basins to be in a dry or critically dry water year..  This water forecast sets the final water year type that is used to determine flows below dams across California, including flows for whitewater recreation. 
The Mokelumne, Pit and Feather Rivers will all have releases this year in accordance with the dry water conditions as agreed to in each of the FERC licenses that govern each of these hydro projects.  The dates for these releases are listed here, however, the most up to date information, including release times and flow levels, can be found on the American Whitewater Release Calendar.  Use the Calendar Control to display releases in California. 
Here are the release events for spring and summer of 2008:
Mokelumne (Below Tiger Creek Dam to Red Corral Road)
    May 24-26                 June 7-8       
    May 31-June 1         June 14-15

Pit 1(Fall River Mills Bridge to Route 299)
    June 21-22
    July 19-20
    August 16-17

North Fork Feather  ( Rock Creek Dam to Rock Creek Powerhouse)
     July 26
     August 23 -24
    September 27-28
