Share Your Vision for the White Salmon (WA)

In October 2012, Condit Dam on the White Salmon River was breached and within a year the dam was gone. In the time since, whitewater paddlers and salmon have discovered a wonderful new section of river.
The Mid Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group has begun work on a Lower White Salmon River Fish
Habitat Conservation Strategy. This project builds on past planning efforts and specifically
targets the lower six miles of the White Salmon River that are largely owned by PacifiCorp. We
have a unique opportunity as a community to influence decisions that will affect the future
quality of fish habitat in the area formerly affected by the dam.
As part of the outreach for this effort, The Mid Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group is hosting
an online meeting (for those who could not attend the public meeting in May) for landowners,
residents, boaters, businesses, and anyone with an interest in the future of fish conservation in
the river.
The online meeting will provide you with an opportunity to
* learn about the project
* hear the latest findings on habitat conditions
* share your vision for the future of the area
* give input on fish habitat goals and strategies
We have enjoyed a great working relationship with the Mid Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group
and we encourage the whitewater paddling community to contribute to the discussion. We share a
vision for a healthy river with restored fish runs and opportunities for the public to directly
experience this restoration success story.
Join the Meeting Today
The online meeting will be available through Sunday July 20th.
