The owners of two dams in the Sullivan Creek Watershed, in far northeastern Washington, are in the process of surrendering their hydropower license for the long defunct project.  Earlier this year, American Whitewater successfully appealed a decision by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission that would have allowed the dam owners to abandon or inappropriately operate the dams, which are on US Forest Service property.  Also earlier this year, several alternatives were presented that include full removal of both dams, removal of one dam (Millpond Dam), and various flow modifications from Sullivan Dam. 

To better inform American Whitewater and other stakeholders of the recreational attributes of Sullivan Creek we ask that all paddlers who have paddled the creek fill out this survey.  The survey should only take 5-10 minutes.  Please share this survey with anyone you may know that has paddled the creek.  Thanks!

AW staff and volunteers got a chance to paddle the Class V Sullivan Creek Gorge earlier this fall.  We shot the video below to share this inaccessible Gorge with other stakeholders.  In addition to the Class V gorge, Sullivan offers some nice Class II+ sections with enough wood to keep paddlers focused.
